While setting up a new Win2k server for a customer, I experience a lot of
errors in the application event log. The ID is 1008 and the source is
Perflib. The error message is: The Open Procedure for service "DNS" in DLL
"C:\WINNT\system32\dnsperf.dll" failed. Performance data for this service
will not be available. Status code returned is data DWORD 0.
I've upgraded the OS from SP2 to SP4 and also tried to implement the steps
described in Knowledge Base article 300956, but the error messages are still
showing up. Any good ideas how to fix this problem ? Would a complete
re-install of the OS be a way to fix it (nothing, except for the OS + AD and
DNS is currently installed on the server....)
