event viewer--volsnap

I opened event viewer to see what was logged and found this volsnap-had a
lot of errors. Problem is that I can't find out what it is.
Thanks

VOLSNAP is the volume shadow copy service used for volume snapshots and
other types of backups. What type of errors are you seeing in the log?

If you have XP and Vista on separate partitions, it's the
major malfunction that wipes out Vista's System Restore
points.

More like an incompatibility between XP volsnap.sys and Vista volsnap.sys
such that XP volsnap.sys evaluates the Vista restore points taken by the
Vista volsnap.sys as corrupted (and deletes them) when you boot XP. This
will not be fixed.
