>Event Viewer .NET Framework Runtime Errors

I'm seeing regular .NET Framework Runtime Errors in Event Viewer -
Applications in WinXP Home SP2 version 5.1.2600. Hope this error screen link
works (never done one these forums) something about "local computer may not
have necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages
froma remote computer.........Unable to open shim database version registry
key - v2.0.50727.00000":

http://img465.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenhunter16xz.jpg

I have these three folders in C:\WINDOWS\.net\Framework:
Version 1.0.3705; Version 1.1.4322; Version 2.0.50727 I assume I need all
three to cover all applications' needs. First two were preinstalled by Dell
and latter I assume came with Windows SP Updates.

Am experiencing no unusual pc behavior and not sure what was going on at the
time of the errors. Just discovered the errors during casual inspection of
Event Viewer one day. What action(s), if any, would you recommend taking.
If your recommendation is reinstall, I will need some guidance on how to
determince the correct download for me, because there are so many listed ont
he download site and I don't understand the differences.

The .NET Event ID 0 in your picture means that there was not enough info
sent to the Event Viewer to display anything meaningful.

You do not have to do a Print Scrn.

Double click the event in Event Viewer | Click: the button below the second
arrow (looks like two pages) [[Copies the details of the event to the
Clipboard.]] | Paste into Notepad | Also click on:
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Yes, I was aware of that little Copy to Clipboard" button on the error
screen. But I think the screenshots are sooooo much nicer for forum
volunteeers aw well as casual forum users, don't you?

A search this forum on keywords "Shim Database Version Registry Key" took me
to another MS forum discussion. Many users were seeing these error messages
and different applications were triggering them off, apparently. Moderator's
response was that "this is a known issue with Version 2.0 and will be
addressed in future SP". As it causes no real problems on the user's pc, in
most cases, no action was recommended. For now, I'll just ignore the error
messages and await MS Windows Updates to correct. Thanks again.
