Event Viewer Corrupt

J

Jeff

Hey guys,

I've read a number of other folks who have been having corrupt Event Viewer
log files after installing SP4 for Win2000.

I read a post where a Microsoft rep pointed to the following KB for more
info:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];829246

Unfortunately, my Windows 2000 came with my Dell NAS, and when trying to get
the hotfix mentioned here, I keep being told by the Microsoft website that I
need to contact Dell for support.

Is there some other easier way to get this fix?

Thanks,
Jeff

As the article states and it has always been this way for hotfixes, you must
contact MS to get it. They will not charge you. Just tell the Customer
service people that you are trying to get the hotfix and mention the
article. 1-800-936-4900.....

Thanks Scott, I was hoping I could do it online somehow, but it's a relief
to hear it's free :)
