I've noticed over the last few days that I'm getting a few errors logging in
the Event logs, and quite a lot of warnings... all regarding the same
device.

Errors:

Event Type: Error

Event Category: None
Event ID: 7
Date: 16/02/2006
Time: 21:15:57
User: N/A

the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for
details. The following information is part of the event: \Device\IviFilte.

Warnings:

I get the warnings in big groups around every 3 seconds, for maybe a minute
or so at a time.

There is an ivicd.sys under \Windows\System32 which is loaded, but I'm not
sure what it relates to exactly.

First of all, what are Events 7 & 51? What is this ivicd.sys file for?

And why am I not getting a more meaningful error message? I do get a more
meaningful message for most other errors, but certainly not these ones...

Thanks in advance

Chris

Hi,

I believe this may be related to your Intervideo software, you might try
reinstalling it.

Ah... I'll investigate that... if it is the Intervideo software, I'll just
remove it, since it's not used. However, I hoped it would shed some light on
some other problems I'm having, but if this is the case, then it appears
that these two problems aren't related.

At least I'll be able to cross one 'suspect' off the list...

Thanks, Rick.
