Ok here I go again. Noone and I mean noone has been able to resolve this
error. I spent hours on the phone with Dell support and they are clueless as
to how they can fix thgis error: I posted on this news group before and have
not gotten any responses.

My computer is a Dell Dimension 3000 1 GB memory

DVD RW CD in IDeport0
DVD R CD in IDEPort1

I run Windows XP Professional SP2

this is the error

I have removed the device that is connected to this port. The error stopped.
Oh you say then that is the problem, well no because I put that same device
on the other IDE port and the error did not occur. So the device is good.
And I also put the device that was on port 0 onto port 1 and the error
occurs. It never occurs on IDEport0 only on IDEport1.

Dell sent me a diag cd and we ran extensive tests on the hardware and no
errors appear durning diagnostics.

I have seen the articles on EVent ID 9 and nothing applies.

I hope someone out there has an idea what I can do.

Thanks

Tom
