Event ID 1004

mike

The terminal server cannot issue a client license.
I have about 8 Win2k or XP Pro machines connecting to
this server and I get this message.
The server is Win2k sp4. The TS licensing server is a DC
running sp4 but I believe TS licensing was installed
after sp4.
The PC that has a temp license is a XP pro machine and
has expired and cannot log-in. Will applying the hotfix
resolve the problem or is there something else I'm
missing. This is the only pc with a temp license and it's
one of the boss'.

Thanks

Which hotfix? If you mean the Licensing Enhancement hotfix, you
can't install that, it is already part of SP3.

Is Event 1004 the only license-related event on the TS? Nothing
about the TS not being able to locate the Licensing Server? And
nothing on the LS itself? If so, try to delete the license from
the client.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
There are no other events in the logs. I will remove the
license and let you know.
Thanks
