Hank Hildebrand

I have the following event errors on my Win 2000 computer:
Source: Service Control Manager; Event Id: 7000;
Description: The FireDaemon Service: MSVC5 and QOS service
failed to start due to the following error: The system
cannot find the file specified.
and
Source: DCOM; Event Id: 10002; Description: Access denied
attempting to launch a DCOM Server. The Server is:
{D485DDCO-49C6-11D1-8E56-00A0C92C9D5D} The user is
Administrator/domain,SID=S-1-5-21 ........ .

Any help would be appreciated

1.) Run regedt32.exe and navigate to;
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSVC5
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\QOS
and have a look at the Reg_Expand_Sz string "ImagePath" value. Does the file
exist at that location? If so the file properties may reveal something.
