ethernet controller

I am upgrading a friend's PC to win2k from win98 and I can
browse the internet just fine but when I go to load norton
anti-virus and click on live-update, it gives me an error
that says 'Liveupdate was not able to make a network
connection-try again'. I then check the hardware list and
find that there is an ethernet controller and pci device
that are yellow with a question mark next to them under
other devices. I check them out and they say the drivers
have not been loaded yet. Now, how can I browse the
internet when the ethernet controller (drivers) have not
been loaded. I am using a VIA RHINE II FE Adapter. Any
help would be appreciated. Where do I go to d/l the
correct drivers. BTW, it is integrated on the motherboard.

Nevermind, I finally disabled the pci modem and the
ethernet controller and voila, everything is working now.
Thanks for those who may have been researching the
problem.
