Ethernet Connection

Have a W2K computer that periodically reports "Lost
network connection, cable unplugged". I have replaced the
cable, the NIC and changed the port. The symptom is real
however as even telenet is disconnected. As the day wears
on the problem dissappears but if the computer is left on
it reappears the next day.

In NIC setting, change auto sense to fixed 100MB, if it stil no use, reduce
speed to 10M Full-Duplex.
If it works, it means your HUB or Switch not good, or NIC, or cable not
comply with your HUB//Switch. You may test the communication use Diag/Setup
program in NIC driver disk, run in dos mode.
