ESC740 on WinXP

A

Aloke Prasad

I am using Epson Stylus Color 740 on a WinXP Pro system. The printer is
connected directly to the USB port on the PC.

The Epson drivers (off their web site) installs and works fine. However,
the Epson Status Monitor 2 cannot find the printer. I am unable to monitor
ink levels.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Epson e-mail support has asked me
to uninstall and re-install the Status Monitor (did not help). They also
said not to use a USB hub (I am not).

Epson does not have XP driver on there web site as XP has a built in driver,
but its utter Crap, use the 2000 driver instead..

Their are 2 Status Monitor 2 drivers and the new one is for XP and USB, but
it must be installed first..

This is the one to get Status Monitor v2.5bE

And Please remove ALL references to the Install drivers and Monitor before
you do this, that is in the remove software and the control panel, install
printers..
