During the start of the installation, when copying windows files it shows an
error saying...
"An error occured while copying setup files onto your local machine. Error
code [80070241]."

I have been trying to install this OS now for about 5 days. After several
suscessful downloads and installing it on a fresh reformatted hd and on a
different PC, I have to say that I've given up. I've done both the 32 bit and
64 bit versions.

I've ordered the dvd from MS. Hope that works.

I'm astounded that they're hasn't been any solution forthcoming from MS for
the dreaded 80070241 errror code.

What's up with that?

I get the same error from the 32-bit dvd. Stumped for now.

MS has advised users to burn the dvd at the slowest possible speeds.
Burning at normal or high speeds accounts for three fourths of file copy
errors during installation.

I was having the same problem. I fixed mine by using a dvd-r instead of a
dvd-rw. It loads fine now.

Collin, you're going to have to edit the cut and paste to include "no
rewritable media..."

Which works better DVD+R or DVD-R. I had no problems burnt at 8x on -R.
Perhaps a vote to decide the best speed and disc type?

Hey there

While this makes sense for the people who download the software, the folks
who ordered the disk from Microsoft should not experence the same problem..
but it seems some of us do...
