Error while adding an old Personal folder file (*.pst)

Hi,

I got transferred to my Head office at N.Delhi recently
and carried my old mails in a *.pst file. I was working
in Office XP at the previous location.

At the new location, I am working with Office-2003 and am
not able to add the old *.pst as my personal folder.(I
keep getting the error - "The c:\..\..\*.pst is not a
personal folders file". I have very important mails in
the 'pst' file. Can anybody help me in opening the
old 'pst' file in Outlook 2003 ?

How did you transfer the pst was it via CD, if so you need to remove the
Read Only attribute on the pst, if this is not the case see if running
scanpst.exe against the file helps

Hi,

Run scanpst.exe file on the pst file and then try to open
the pst file in outlook 2003, Outlook 2003 uses a
completely different method of coding on pst files than
outlook xp.

do a search for scanpst.exe on your pc and you should find
it, if not search for scanpst on microsoft's website.
