error when opening ppt

When I email a friend a copy of a powerpoint saved in 2003 comp mode with
flash on it - it starts to open, then we have to enable the content and then
after that a box comes up that says "some controls on the presentation can't
be activated. They might not be registered on this computer" - and then if
you click ok, the presentation starts the slides show, the music is ok, but
the falsh at the beginning and the flash at the end - don't work - just a
big white box where the flash should be .. Anyone have any ideas what is
wrong - or would someone be willing to let me email them the file to see if
they could figure it out?

thanks!

Well, It is because that there is not Flash player or Flash Active
plugin installed on your friends computer, at the same time, Flash is
linked to your presentation, you should:
1. Put the Flash and the PowerPoint presentation in a same folder.
2. Reinsert the sound file to the PowerPoint presentation.
3. Package the entire folder into one archive file and send it to
others. Do not create self-extracting (SFX) archive since most email
block EXE files by default. WinZip and WinRAR are both recommended to
archive your presentation files for emailing perfectly.

I have had a couple of occasions where I had the same message but other PPT's
w/SWF's played fine. Tracked it down to the fact that I had used a 3rd party
compression package to reduce the file size - which I do all the time - but
forgot to tell it not to "flatten' inserted objects. As a result, the SWF's
would not play and I got that same message and symptoms you are getting.

Just noticed...if you are using 2007 and embedding the SWF's it won't work.
MVP Echo has posted here that SWFs will appear to embed using 2007 but they
don't.
