Error when launching Word after upgrading from Office 97 to Office

I recently upgraded from Office 97 to Office XP Pro on a Windows 98SE machine. Now every time I launch Word I get an error message:

Micro Visual Basic
The Macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros.

|OK| |Help|

Can anyone help me out with this?

Have you done what the message suggests? Look in Word's Help for "enable
macros."

Start by setting your security to Medium (Tools | Macro | Security). That
will assure that you get a dialog allowing you to enable the macros if you
want instead of their being automatically disabled. Then, on the Trusted
Sources tab, check the radio button for "Trust all installed add-ins and
templates." That will take care of all add-ins and templates in your User
Templates and Workgroup Templates folders and the Word Startup folder.
Unfortunately, the trust does not extend to the Office Startup folder; if an
add-in is located there, when you get the message that allows you to enable
the macros, you may also be provided a check box for "Trust all add-ins from
[company]," which will make it a "trusted source." Any add-ins that don't
provide this check box are probably ones you can do without.

Thanks for the reply. I have looked in Word's help for "enable macros"
but didn't find any information that helped.
