error trying to export messages from Outlook Express 6

I have a new computer and am trying to move my
account and messages from the old computer to the
new one. I was able to export/import account
settings, but have not been able to move the messages
I have stored. I tried to use Export Messages, but
received the following error message:

--The export could not be performed.

--An error occurred while initializing MAPI.

Any ideas? Cannot seem to find anything about this
in the Knowledge Base.

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups). The links under the newsgroup
references are for use with MS's web newsreader (not exactly the best way to
post but it works for some people)

the SWEN virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted
without reading.

This is probably a pretty lame workaround, but you could
probably save the old messages off to a personal folder,
then burn that personal folder onto CD. You then would set
up personal folders on your new system & import the
personal folder file from the CD to your new system. There
should be Microsoft help on working with
importing/exporting personal folders that could give you
step-by-step instructions on that.

That wouldn't work because Outlook Express doesn't write personal folder
files, and the OP _did_ say Outlook Express (or didn't you read the post?)
