Error Report

I wasn't sure where to post this but I hope all will excuse me if I
should post this elsewhere.
I've been getting a fatal error when I try to compact and repair my db
from a custom menu while the db is open. It worked fine in the past
but now when the db "re-opens" the data in my list boxes doesn't get
displayed and the fatal error occurs.
My question is when these errors occur why am I unable to extract the
error report info and paste it into a post?
It's bad enough these software companies charge an arm and a leg
for phone support. Support I can never, never afford! Yet I spent over $200
for Access 2003. But yet when an error occurs I'm unable to copy the report
(error) info to the clipboard so I can utilize it.
I know the first question one of you will ask: What does the error say?
Apparently, I must write all this info down and try to relate it a newsgroup
in order to get assistance?!
I don't send error reports anymore. Sending them does me no good.

James, it sounds as if something has gone wrong with your database, and we
need to try to get Access to rebuild it for you.

The steps are explained in the first symptom in this article:

I imported all objects into a new db and re-linked the data.
Seems to be fine now. I'll look into prevention now.

Thanks much,
James
