I have Vista 64 Bit Professional. I find these newsgroups very useful for
questions about various MS products but I cannot post or reply to a post from
my Vista machine. When I click on New it merely refreshes the screen but does
not launch the New Question window. I have turned Popup Blocker off too but
it doesnt help. Are there any other settings I need to know about?

Lose the lousy web interface and get a newsreader. You can setup
Windows Mail, which is on your machine, or get one of the very fine
third party newsreaders available: Agent (www.forteinc.com/agent),
Thunderbird (www.mozilla.org/thunderbird). Google for others.

The address of this server is msnews.microsoft.com, you'll need to
supply that to whichever newsreader you use.

Here are general instructions that may help you. Thunderbird is a fine
newsreader. Of course the "list on the left is like a standard newsgroup";
these *are* standard newsgroups!

Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is
really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn
to use a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you
can use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have
it. Here are some links to information about newsgroups:

Hi Malke

The difference is that on the web interface, the list down the lift is user
friendly. In the news reader, it is user hostile, which is why I couldnt
easliy find access to Microsoft Office Accounting for instance

We seem to be speaking different languages. You don't understand what
I say and I don't understand what you say. I give up.

Marion, there is a major prob with the Vista discussion Newsgroups web
interface.
Can't sign in, post reply, etc; just READ.
That's all!
MS has been notified, and are trying to fix it.
I am here through a link they gave me.
