error on database close

I have an error that only occurs now that our A2003 database is running in
A2007. If we open a certain form, use the sort buttons on the Access
toolbar, then close the form and then the database, we get the "you attempted
to open a database that is already opened exclusively by..." which we don't
get when we close the database at any other time. Can anyone tell me what is
causing that?

Sounds like there might be some code behind the form that is not
finishing correctly.
