error on auto-archive

One of my users is getting the following when he runs auto-archive:

Error while archiving folder "Calendar" in store "Mailbox - Peter
Woll". The file U:\outlook\archive new.pst could not be accessed.

This error is repeated for each folder in his mailbox. I ran a repair
on the pst, and it still happens. There's no problem reading any of the
folders/messages in the pst. He can drag messages from his Mailbox to
the pst, and they move. I understand that reading a pst from a server
volume is not recommended by MS, but this has worked fine for 3 years.
The pst is 1.3 gigs, so it's not a size issues.

Is the drive mapping still valid? If you go to the File menu > Open >
Outlook Data File command can you enter that path and have it work on his
workstation?

Well, I removed the Dat File from his client while I ran the repair on
it. I added it back in using File/Open/Outlook Data File. I didn't type
the path, but rather browsed the file.

Remember, it's possible to copy/move items to the pst if it's done
manually. The error only occurs when Auto-archive runs.

What kind of server is the PST file situated on?
