I am getting an error message when sending e-mails with Outlook, the error is:-

What's the full text of the error? Might it be something like "Task '<SMTP
server name> - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x80042109): 'Outlook
is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP).'"?

What version of Outlook?

How long has the problem been happening? Did it just start?

Did anything on the system change?

Yes that is the error message, the problem appears to have started when i
installed BTYahoo messenger?

I was able to senf and receive using outlook prior to this?

Is it some how blocking outlook?

I doubt Yahoo Messenger is affecting Outlook's ability to connect to a mail
server, but you can always remove it just to make sure.

What happens if you go to Start - Run and type 'telnet <the address of your
smtp server> 25'?
