AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!
Why can't this stuff be simple?
I downloaded video from my camcorder (Panasonic VDR-D200) to it's
software... saved it to the hard drive... and cannot import it into Movie
maker... which is weird because I was able to download a clip a few days ago
just fine. Now all of a sudden... NOTHING! I keep geting an error messege
that says, the file "could not be imported. An interface has too many methods
to fire from."
What does this mean and what do I do???
Thanks

Did you capture using Movie Maker or a different program?
The "too many methods to fire from" error message generally only comes up
when trying to import MPEG2 files into Movie Maker.
They need to either be converted to AVI or capture again but this time use
Movie Maker.

I am guessing, don't have time to look it up right now, that your camcorder
records to a Video Disk (Hence VDR) meaning the video is in MPEG2 format.

I'll check that out. I am new to the whole camcorder thing... and yes it is
DVD. I'll try to capture it in Movie maker. Not too sure how to do that...
but I'll take a shot at it. I'm terrible about manuals... "I'm more hands
on... figure it out myself" type of person until I get so frustrated. Can we
say "hard-headed"?
Thanks for the input!

I'm sorry... but I am still unable to get these files. I tried capturing into
Movie Maker... it's not letting me. I get an error message saying no video
devise found. I tried ripping the dvd... it doesn't let me. When I put the
dvd in the computer it isn't recognizing it... probably because it is a
dvd-ram disc. That is what Panasonic says I need to use in order to import
the video for editing. I'm getting a headache!

Ok take some Ibuprofen :)

Better now?
Did the camera come with software from Panasonic to capture video with?
If so use that, it will probably capture to MPEG2 which won't work with WMM
but you can then convert the MPEG to AVI for editing in WMM. See this
website for converting details:
