Error Message - Windows is unable to save all data from \$MST

My daughter is having a problem with her computer. She removed viruses but
now her computer is slow, will restart for no reason, freezes up and she will
get an error message "Windows is unable to save all data from
\$MST...hardware/network". She said also \$Directory comes up. She is in a
different city at school and is quite frustrated. Is there anything she can
do besides a complete reload of Windows XP Professional?

Hi,

$MST or $MFT?

Have her run "chkdsk C: /r" from a command prompt (start/run cmd) and
schedule it to run when the system is rebooted (just follow the prompts).
