Error Message When Trying To Capture Video

I bought my computer about 6 months ago so I could edit
videos. It's a Media Center, so it's perfect for doing
that and it worked great with no problems up to about a
few weeks ago. I had stopped editing things for a while
and decided to start back up again. I connected my
camera to the composit jacks on the front of my computer
(like I did hundreds of times before with no problems)
started ShowBiz and hit capture, but I got the error
message "The device is not available, or being used by
another application. Please close any applications that
may be using the device and try again." It wont let me
capture period.

So I turned to Adobe Premiere, to see if it would work in
that. Using it, I dont get any error messages but
instead I get NO audio, just the video. I thought that
maybe the jacks had gone out on me. So, trying to figure
this out, I recently went into the main Media Center
program and had set my TV Input to my front composit
jacks and what showed up was what was playing in my VCR,
with video AND audio. This convinced me that it wasn't
the jacks that had gone faulty.

As far as I can tell, the problem doesn't lie in the
recording settings in VOLUME CONTROL, cuz previously I
had never had to do any changes in their to get it to
work.

That's a lot of info there, but frankly I dont know
what's wrong with my computer and why all of a sudden it
WONT let me capture video and audio. Does anyone have
any clue as to why this wont work? Is there someone else
who's had this problem, a similar one or maybe somewhere
I can go to find more information? Any help would be
hot. Thanks.

Open device mgr in system properties, expand the tree for those
capture devices,properties,and/or try updateing the driver. You can
also go to ADM.,open event-viewer,see whats taking place when trying
to capture.
