error message when opening Outlook 2003 for first time

I have a new laptop with Vista Home Premium. I downloaded Office 2003 and
everything works fine except for Outlook. I am not sure whether a mail
program already in Vista is causing it but the error message is: "Cannot
start Microsoft Outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version. This
could have been caused by installing other messaging software. Please
reinstall Outlook."

I have tried reinstalling but it has not worked. I have not found a way of
reinstalling Outlook only instead of the whole Office Suite. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your response!
I believe that I did Install from CD BEFORE I uninstalled the trial version.
I really hate to uninstall the whole Office Suite again but do you think
that would help now that I have unintalled trial of Office 2007?

I did double-click on fixmapi as the directions that you sent specified but
nothing happened. Any suggestions on that before I uninstall and reinstall?

Open "programs and features" and find Office , click change, choose
add/remove features, select "not available" for Outlook.

Restart computer.

Open "programs and features" and find Office , click change, choose
add/remove features, select
"Run all from my computer" for outlook. then Outlook should work.
