Error Message when opening FP2002 webs

After I start FrontPage 2002 and open it, I click on the
web name to open it. I enter the username and password,
and get this message:

"An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web files.
Authors - if authoring against a web server, please
contact the webmaster for this server's site. WebMasters -
please see the server's system log for more details."

I click on the OK to close the message, then click on the
web again to choose it. Then the web comes up normally.
This sequence and error message occurs for both webs I
author, though the servers for the webs are in different
parts of the country. Both of these webs (entirely
different URLs) first got the message on the same day. (I
always open both of them each morning.) This has been
recurring for a week now.

In attempting solutions--
I deleted everything in my Win2000 FrontPage TempDir
folder.
I deleted all files that began with *web (there weren't
any).
Only one web had an addin, and that one is normally opened
second, so I don't think it's an addin issue.
I recalculated hyperlinks on both webs.
I typed a portion of the error message in Microsoft's
Knowledgebase and got an article referring to problems
with FP98 "refresh" tags, which I don't think is the issue
because I have FP2002 and the error message occurs before
any pages are opened.
I opened the server's error and access logs and saw
nothing that related to the issue.

What do I do now? Thanks!

Steve H
