error message setupapi.dll missing entry:s

windowsxp programs will not open in control panel, add/remove, security, etc.
no virus or spyware detected from scans. yahoo email will not open from
start menu.
this error message is received about setupapi.dll. i also, don't the
location of these missing entries. i am new at this.

Do you have another account to try to logon with and see if it will occur
with it too?
"Setupapi.dll file appears to be corrupt" error message when you try to
upgrade to Windows XP

See if you been disallowed from having control on your system by opening a
run command and type in:
regedit click [OK] locate this Key and see the entries there and post them
back in your next post:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policcies =

i am able to go to the registry and to look at policies folder

was able to enter registry all the way tp policies folder
switched user administrative tools the only one that opened, all
others, internet options,add/remove,java,etc would not open, but no error
message
