error message rundll32.exe

i have ie6.
when i go to internet options(io) under gerneral tab and try to clear
history, or click on the colors tab, or click on the language tab, or the
accessibilty tab, the application gets hung up(not responding). error
message comes up, get and end prgram-rundll32.exe. then i send an error
report. the error report is titled "internet explorere is not responding:
try trouble shooting steps. the steps are:1. istall the latest security
updates for ie6. 2. make sure your windows software is up to date. 3.
istall, run, and regularly update anti-spyware and anti-ware. 4. turn off
unfamiliar ie add-0ns. 5. fix yahoo toolbar. 6. update antivirus software
and run. 7. visit ms ie newsgroup. i have done all of the above with no
success. please help.

1. What is the complete, exact error message?

2. Close IE and go to Internet Options in the Control Panel. On the
Advanced tab uncheck Enable third party browsing enhancements.

3. What anti-virus?

4. You may have a malware infection.
