Error message - "Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator"

DAVID BUCHANAN

I am using XP Home Edition and when installing Norton Internet Security
2003, I twice got the error message "Registry editing has been disabled by
your administrator (I am the administrator)" When I clicked on "OK" it
continued installing the programme. After shutting down and rebooting I
tried opening the registry editor and got the error message "Memory access
violation in module kernel32 at 1755:68774568". Can anyone tell me what I
have done wrong, and what I can do to fix the problem.

Any help will be gratefully received.

Update your antivirus definitions or your antivirus vendor. There are several
tools available to fix what may be the W32/Swen@MM worm here.
