error message importing from excell to access

I am trying to import a large excell worksheet into access and it seems as if
everything goes ok until I get to the last part where I name the imported
access file. It gives me an error message that says "An error occurred trying
to import file 'C:\Documents and Settings\BoweM0DG\My Documents\Special
Project Test For Access.xls'. The file was not imported." What am I doing
wrong? I am kind of new to this. Please Help.

I was able to link the excell spreadsheet to access but not import it why?

Are you trying to import it to an existing table? If so, the number of
columns and their headings in Excel must exactly match the fields and
field names in the table.
