Hello,

I just got an Access db from a co-worker. When I open it, it pops up a start
up form containing two cmd buttons ( form and Reports)
When I click on the Form button, I get this error " Project contains a
missing or broken reference to the file cr92.mde.
I hit ok and it goes into the data entry form.
I'd like to get rid of that error message, but I don't know how to do it.
I thought it was a form problem so I went into the module tab and created a
new one. Then, I went into tools-references and unchecked the one that said
missing: cr92.mde and saved it.
Now, it opens up ok with no problems.
My question to you is, will it affect the DB now that I unchecked that
reference?
Should I create another reference?

Please help

Thanks,

Rita

Probably not, if it hasn't already. But, it's possible that something uses
that reference that you just have not happened upon, so far.

The xxx.mde is a "compiled" Access database, likely procedures that the
author uses in many databases. But they may not have been used in this
database.
Should I create another reference?

It won't do you any good to try to create a reference to it, unless you have
a copy. Have you talked to the person from whom you got the database to see
if they can search for and give you a copy of the .mde? Have you done a file
search on your machine to make certain you don't have a copy?
