error message at start up.

About 8 months ago I changed from a geforce 2 to the Ati
radeon 9700 pro. It's been close too 2 weeks now that
this message at start up of my windows xp home edition
appears:

"RUNDLL Error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll The
specified module could not be found"

How can I stop this message from appearing?

I problebly need to completly uninstall my nvidia drivers
and other nvidia stuff. From "all programs"
and "search". If I do a search for nvidia and delete
everything that is found. Will this delete everything for
nvidia in my pc?

And if I need to clean up my start up files. Again how
exactly can I do this?

Greetings --

NvCpl.dll is part of nVidia display drivers package. Try searching the
registry and deleting any entry with "NvCpl" in it

NVCPL is part of teh nVidia drivers. Uninstall the nVidia Display adapter
driver from Add/Remove Programs.

I went in "add/remove programs" and nothing with nvidia
in the title is there.

I went in the registry (run, regedit) and I deleted about
7 folder with nvcpl in the title. I restarted windows and
still I get the same message at start up.

What else can I do to solve this prblem?

Try this (logged in with admin rights),

Right click on Desktop, Properties, Settings, Advanced, Adaptor,
Properties, Driver, Uninstall, Ok.

Reboot, login with admin rights and install the correct driver for your
display adaptor according to the manufacturer's instructions.

In the registry I don't see anything else with nvcpl in
the title

I fallowed your steps to go uninstall my ATI driver. I
rebooted I still got the error message. I installed the
latest catalyse ATI driver, rebooted again. I still get
the error message. That didn't somehow uninstall my
nvidia driver.

You guys know anything else that I could try to fix the
problem?

If I go to "all programs" and "search". Then do a search
for nvidia and delete evrything that appears. Will this
stop the error message from appearing. Or will it cause
more problems. I'm not sure.

Start | Run and type msconfig, on the startup tab uncheck NvCpl.
