Error message 0x80501001

when i run defender 2 it identifies a program c2lop and advises i remove
immediately when i press remove now i get an error message 0x80501001 can
anyone help

You did the install yourself, MessengerPlus!
Do the Full Scan with WD in Safe mode (Press F8 at bootup)
And let me now the result.

Are you running latest WD version ?

Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1347.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1372.0
Definition Version: 1.14.1452.3

Messenger Plus is tricky and if you installed _with_ the "ugly" sponsor
it´s better to install again with sponsor and directly uninstall.

Messenger Plus sponsor uses LOP and it randomly creates folder and
files for ad/spyware.

After Messenger plus uninstall, scan with WD.

Thanks, I realised that messenger plus was causing a problem, so i ignored
the warning but it still comes up with this c2lop thingy, are you saying this
error is still leated to messenger plus?

Hi Tom thanks for you help and yes I did instalm messenger+ myself, are you
saying to run WD in safe mode or windows xp, because excuse my lack of skills
in all things computers.

files. LOP or c2lop is the sponsor. I don´t believe that WD manage to
complete remove a LOP infest.

But this only occurs if you installed it WITH the sponsor.

If you installed WITH the sponsor it´s better to install again and then
directly uninstall.

But latest Messenger Plus is buggy. (a pest IMHO)

So after uninstall, scan with WD.

It could also be a good advice to run A-squared as extra check.
