Drive 1 not found: Serial ATA, SATA-1 Intel (r) Application
Accelerator Raid Option ROM V41006211
I've switched drive 1 to ON and Sata-Operation to "RAID AUTO/ATA" but
still have the same error.
Any thoughts?

Go to the hard drive manufacturer's web site (not Dell) and download
their free diagnostic utility. This will likely create a bootable CD
or diskette. Boot your computer with this and run the diagnostic
test.
Note: Also make certain that S.M.A.R.T. monitoring for the hard
drive(s) is enabled in the BIOS setup.
Good luck
