Error installing microsoft word 2003

When i tried installing microsoft word 2003, a box poped up and said "The
expected version of the product was not found on your system." What do i need
to do to make it work, or will it.

Are you installing from a Word cd?
Is there a trial version of Office installed?
In any case the Q should be posted to either a Word or Office group

You apparently have an upgrade version of Word. The installation routine is
looking for an older version of Word to upgrade. If you don't have an older
version installed (or can provide proof of upgrade eligibility by inserting
your older version Word CD), then you will need to purchase a full version
of Word instead.
