Click Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options>COM Add-Ins and remove the check
in front of Outlook Backup Add-In.

I am having the same problem when i start up Outlook and receive the "not a
valid addin -- outlvba.dll". I went through the step and there is no check
box in front of the Outlook backup add-in. How else can I solve this problem?
Thanks,
Jeff

I obviously need to clean my glasses. Outlvba.dll isn't the backup add-in
(outbak.dll is), so it's not surprising. Have you tried Help>Detect and
Repair?

I also had this problem, but tried Detect and Repair as suggested by Brian,
and it worked.

I am having the same problem, but there is no Outlook backup add-in. What can
I do to fix this?

You've checked add/remove dialogue to see if the MS Outlook backup addin has
been installed, though it may not be shown in OL?

I looked in my add/remove programs on my computer and didn't see anything
pretaining to Outlook...what do you suggest doing now?

As suggested above, I ran Detect and Repair from the Help menu in Outlook, and it fixed the problem.
