ERROR: DnsGetPrimaryDomainName_UTF8 could not be located in the dynamic link library DNSAPI.dll

Hi,

Just setup a new Windows 2003 network w/ two domain controllers. The first
DC is also an AD integrated DNS server, DHCP server and WINS server. The
second DC is an AD integrated DNS server also.

I have a lot of errors in the event viewers. After some research, I decided
to do a NetDiag in the network. I went to the only client in this network
which is running Win XPPro.

Upon running NetDiag /test:DcList, I got this error:
"The procedure entry point DnsGetPrimaryDomainName_UTF8 could not be located
in the dynamic link library DNSAPI.dll

What could be the problem and how do I resolve it?

BTW:
Here's what I get when I do ipconfig on the client machine.

C:\Program Files\Resource Kit>ipconfig /all

Hey,

I'm having a similar problem.

In the process of installing Exchange 2003 on my Win2003 DC, I ran
netdiag and I get the same error that you do. This DC is the only one
on this network.

If anyone has a solution to the netdiag problem, please let us
know!:what
