error deleting file

Lucille

I'm trying to delete a file that is on my desktop called "Information on
Computer Bug."

No matter what I tried, I get the following message:

"Error Deleting File or Folder

Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk"

Any help would be appreciated.

I wonder if you have took a baddie on board. Have you got all your updates
for virus and mailware, and MS updates done. Check this site which will help
you decide if you have things in your startup folder which should not be
there.
http://www.castlecops.com/StartupList.html come back with results.

I ran spybot and ad aware and AVG. None of them found anything wrong.

I tried to delete the file from Safe Mode and got the same message.

Short of doing a system restore, how can I get rid of this nuisance?

Added information. I tried a system restore and it didn't get rid of this
desktop file either. I still got the cannot delete file message.

Thanks again for any help offered.>

Have you got Adaware set for "full"system scan. Have you done a search for
this file. Have you right clicked on icon>properties>find.
This must be in startup folder, have you checked that last URL given Castle
cops.

Load this freeware cleaner www.ccleaner.com it will clean your rubbish and
their is also a mild reg cleaner with it,and it may find your trouble file,
their is a backup entry.
Also I have just googled Remove file from desktop and there are entries.

I've tried everything short of a jackhammer.

.. I haven't gone into the registry and I'm not sure if I have the nerve to
do that.

It's not in the startup folder or anywhere else I looked and I'm really
frustrated.

Thanks for trying.
