Error copying pictures to card

I have been copying digital pictures on my computer to a SD card to use in a
digital picture frame. Many pictures copied across, but all of a sudden I get
an error message "Cannot copy (filename):The directory or file cannot be
created". This is strange because the card is not full. I also copied some of
the files earlier onto a flash drive and they worked fine. I have rebooted
the computer to clear the virtual memory. Any suggestions?

Thanks, I will give that a try.

I'm guessing that you are copying files to the root directory, not a
subdirectory. The FAT file system used on the card has a hard limit
to the root directory size.

Create a subdirectory on the card and copy your photos to that
subdirectory and you shouldn't have any problems.
