Error Code 1717

My 2000 Server machine cannot load Task Scheduler. I keep
getting an "Error 1717: The interface is unknown." I have
tried several fixes to no avail. Any suggestions?

Hi Mike,

The likelihood of the problem is cause by the Event Log
service not started.

Please ensure that the Event Log service is set
to "Automatic" and Started (Which should be the default
setting).

Restart the server and try again.
