Error 50--The Request is not supported

I have a friend with XP Dell using dial-up. She can connect to her server
fine until she disconnects; then when she tries to reconnect, she gets this
message. This is a home computer. I've noticed most comments seem to have
to do with servers. Is there a setting that is not set up right? She has to
restart the computer to reconnect without the error message. She has tried a
second server and it does the same thing
