Hi!

I have a domain which consists of several domain controllers. All of
them are running Windows 2003 Service Pack 1 and all of the latest
fixes. Both domain and forest levels are Windows 2003.

Some of the machines are upgraded from Windows 2000 and some are
installed from scratch.

My domainc controllers are also DNS servers and I use AD Integrated
zones.

After the installation of Service Pack 1 I get the error below when
restarting any of the servers. There is one error for each DNS server.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: DNS
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4010
Date: 2005.08.13
Time: 11:16:04
User: N/A
Computer: SVIL
Description:
The DNS server was unable to create a resource record for
f0fd34f4-052d-4a36-a994-c92c97816744._msdcs.kordab.com. in zone
kordab.com. The Active Directory definition of this resource record is
corrupt or contains an invalid DNS name. The event data contains the
error.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Data:
0000: 7b 00 00 00 {...

After updating to Windows 2003, I also reconfigured the DNS according
to KB article 817470. I'm not sure this is what's causing the error.

Running dcdiag /v /c returns no errors, but there are one part I'm not
sure about:

TEST: Delegations (Del)
Delegation information for the zone: kordab.com.
Delegated domain name: _msdcs.kordab.com.
DNS server: skna.kordab.com. IP:192.168.1.1 [Valid]

The test has been run on server 192.168.5.1, should not the delegation
be replicated and stored on each DC/DNS Server? The _msdcs.kordab.com
zone is replicated as well as the kordab.com zone.

My thinking here is that any requests for anything in
kordab.com._msdcs is going to server 192.168.1.1 instead of server
192.168.5.1 for a site.

Everything seems to work fine, but I would like to know why this error
comes up and fix it if possible.

/Peter
