error 3309 (Property Value Too Large)

I get this 3309 error message inconsistantly, upon trying
to leave and save a table that has about 230 fields.

Acouple days ago, I got a message that said I should send
an error report to Microsoft, something along the lines
that Microsoft would want to know that the ACCESS had a
problem, complete with a hex code dump, etc. I do not use
the interent with this laptop, so I did not send it.

Now, it seems that if I add a field, sometimes I get this
error 3309. I might delete the field, close the table,
then re-open it add it again and have no problem, close
it, THEN REOPEN THE TABLE AND CHANGE THE NAME OF THE FIELD
AND GET THE 3309 Property Value too large error
again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it because I am approaching 255 field limit or is my
table corrupted and I am in trouble if I keep using it?

For those that may be interested, I found my own answer
after much looking (no-one else responded)

In case others may benefit, I post one answer:

If a table grows over 150 records (as it rarely does, I am
told), then if the fieldnames are quite long, ACCESS may
yield this error message.

I reduced my field name sizes and so far it helped.
