Error 2203 when installing Office 2003

Hi

I keep getting the error message "Error 2203. An internal error has
occurred. (C:\WINDOWS\Installer\3f14ae.msi -2147287008 )" whenever I try
to install Office 2003. I have just formatted my hard drive and am trying to
re-install everything. I can install Office XP but cannot install 2003 either
fresh or over XP. Any ideas please?

Thanks but I tried this and I got the message "Setup has detected that the
Service Pack version of this system is newer than the update that you are
applying. There is no need to install this update".

This is a different error code. I did look in the Kn owledge basde first and
while there are error 2203 posts, none of them seem to relate to my
particular problem.
