Error 1933

When XP Pro starts, media player starts automatically and
Office basic starts to look for installation files.
Then comes up with error 1933.
Think this is virus related as everything was working
fine.
Also IE homepage keeps going to about blank.
Tried Highjackthis, Search and destroy. all to no avail.
Any help would be very much appriciated.
