error 1919

I get this error when I try to install/re-install Access.
Any clues?

Error 1919. Error configuring ODBC data source: MS Access
Database. ODBC error 6: Component not found in registry.
Verify that the file MS Access Database exista and that
you can access it.
**********************
I really don't want to mess with the registry: too scary.
