Error 16650

Jim

In the Event log I am getting an error number of 16650-
Source SAM. The description is The aacount-identifier
allocator failed to intialize properly. The record data
contains the NT error code that caused the failure.
Windows 2000 may retry the initialization until it
succeeds; until that time, account creation will be denied
on this Domain Controller.

I am new to this organization so I don't know all the
details yet, but this is on a 2000 domain controller using
active directory moved from an NT 4.0 domain controller.
Which was on another machine

There are 2 other machines that are in the domain
controllers list that shouldn't be. One does not exist
anymore and one does but is doing other tasks but not as a
dc it is a NT 4.0 Server

when I run a dcdiag on the 2 domain controllers it is
coming back with DCGETDCNAme call failed error 1355

Also I am getting an Event Id of 1586 source NTDS
replication

Help I have went to all the articles but none are working
for me it seems. When I try to do a metadata cleanup and
bind to the old NT 4.0 server it will not let me saying
something about an endpoint mapper error

I just found out that our PDC went down and my boss just
redid the machine put Windows 2000 and the made it a
domain controller, It seems that is when the problem came
up, and it seems to be holding all the roles. There was
another domain controller at the time that picked up the
load when this main server was done. DNS are pointing at
each other

Please help

You need to ensure that all FSMO roles have been seized. You also need to
ensure that the old records no longer reside in DNS.

Now, re. the metadata cleanup...did you follow the instructions explicitly?
Ensure you are not trying to bind to the wrong server -when you are
obtaining the info. you need to bind to a working DC -you only choose the
missing DC when you reach the point where you perform the actual deletion.

You may also want to look at: www.eventid.net re. your other error. ;-)
We'll need the source to help with that.
