Help!
I am trying to install the Powerpoint 2002 Upgrade but I'm having trouble. I
have a Powerpoint version of Office 95. I was succesful doing this task on my
other PC, but it was last year and I can't figure out how to do it with my
new laptop. I installed the old version of Ppt too and searched the web for
troubleshooting
http://search.microsoft.com/search/...qu="error+1608"+powerpoint&swc=3&na=33&cm=512
and it still won't upgrade!

Basically, after I type in the CD Key of my Upgrade Disk it can't seem to
locate a valid qualifying product on my machine. Then, "Error 1608" appears
and then shows "Setup was unable to locate a qualifying product.
Installation ended prematurely because of an error."

Setup was unable to locate a qualifying product

On some products, you can manually locate the qualifying product.... and
then supplying Disk 1 or CD1... then tell the install software that "hey -
yes I do have this product.... look for it on Drive A: or D: etc"

Usually upgrade paths are 2 versions back. In the case of 2002, that would
mean PPT 2000 and 97. 95 wouldn't be an upgradeable product.

I'm wondering if you had another version of PPT on the other computer that
allowed you to upgrade.
