I am trying to load software for HP Officejet 6110xi onto my computer but get
the above message. Have Windows XP Home Edition operating system.

Have tried with the disc supplied by HP as well as using seperate file.
Continue to get same mesage and installation stops after reaching about 40%.
Messsage "Fatal error during installation".

Spent one hour on the phone with HP support without success. They feel it
is a Microsoft problem.

Any suggestions?

Strictly my opinion: It's an HP problem. Their
installation software used to be top-notch. For the past
few years it has gotten worse and worse. You might try
installing the software to a different location from the
default location, i.e., create a folder in the root
directory of the C drive named HP or HewPac and see if it
will install there. You might also look in the My
Pictures folder and see if there's a mangled or mis-named
file there that could be causing the problem, like a file
that starts with a character that's not on the keyboard.
If so, erase it.

Good Luck !

Dear Sir,

1. Error 1324 pops-up at various applications. Most current, I am trying
to download software from a CD for installation of a WebCam. Error 1324 will
no allow the completion of this download.

2. Can you fix this problem from your-end or do I have to? Eather way, how
can I fix this problem.

Respectfully,
Scott

Hi Scott

Have a look at this page:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/err1324.htm

There is information on the likely cause and how to fix it, either
manually or by downloading a .reg file that you can run. You do have to
fix it yourself (or have a friend or PC tech do it for you) -- the
people here are just a bunch of other XP users like you and we can't see
your computer from here :)

Good luck! Let us know how you get on :)
