I am still getting the above error in target designer. The files are
copied to the image. Target designer doesn't seem to believe it. There
are previous threads here:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...group%3Dmicrosoft.public.windowsxp.embedded.*

and here:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...group%3Dmicrosoft.public.windowsxp.embedded.*

(sorry for the long links)

There have been additional reports.

Juergen Streigel's symptoms look exactly like mine. I can see the
repository, and have full rights to it. I get the same error when I
disable virus protection. I made no changes to the system before I
started getting this error.

Has anyone else seen this problem? Any resolution?

Some people have fixed similar problems by changing rights to the
repository database or disabling virus protection. My system doesn't
have those problems.

I don't know why you're getting that error. Perhaps the DB or those
components are corrupt? Weird that it's machine.inf reporting that error.
You don't say whether every component with a dependency on machine.inf is
reporting this or if it's specific components.

Hello Andy,

my problem with that thing also still exists. I'm getting used to that
33 errors during building the OS but that's not really funny.
It's not concerning only machine.inf but nearly all .inf files the
configuration wants to add (and it's only .inf files).
The Windows Embedded applications are completely new installed after
getting this error. Only to learn that the errors still occur. All
formerly given tips are followed (virus tools, access rights...).
Since I completely refilled the database (I removed even the sql desktop
machine and all repositories) I don't believe in a corrupt db.

Sincerely, Juergen Striegel

I'll ask someone to look into it. Thank you for your patience.
Thanks

Oh, one other thing, what version of the DB and tools is this that you guys
are using?

Thanks

Using TD Version 2.00.0807.0
DB: depends on what you want to know. In DBM, Repository says XP
Embedded Client Main has Version 5.1.2600.1106,R1507.... (didn't find
anything other to report to you).

Thanks!

Juergen , If that is what you are facing i went through this process
...

1)sure your XPe Repository share is atleast read-only accessible to
your
account //your XPe dev machine name//Repositories)

2)Did you check if there is enough HardDrive Space .

3)To check into error log files generated by the System to understand
where it exactly goes wrong.

Hope the versions of the tools and the Database goes with the same
version.

Ok well I had all the above one's not really satisfying..As you said n
number of errors in the database and all pointed to the right
repositories.Last option and had reinstalled the database to find it
working good.

Im still confused y those errors cameup though i didnt have enough of
time space to investigate into it.

Kesavan

I am also using TD Version 2.00.0807.0. I checked the Repository tab in
the Component Database Manager, and it says Windows XP Embedded Client
Main (x86) [Version 5.1.2600.1106,R1507].

Thanks for your help, Andy and Juergen.

I have the same problem but I cant find any solutions for
it. I have tried to reinstall almost everything than the
OS. Is there still no solution for it?

I had the same problem with the Embedded Studio installed on a Win
2000 platform. After installing it on a XP Professional box everything
is OK.
